Dr. William G. Sutlive, II

Dr. William Greene Sutlive, II, 95, longtime Savannah OBGYN, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026, at his home in Savannah. He was born June 17, 1930, in Blackshear, GA, son of the late William Kirkland Sutlive and Kathleen Sutlive. Dr. Sutlive attended Benedictine Military School, the University of Georgia, and Augusta Medical College. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and the Savannah Yacht Club. He enjoyed taking family and friends out on his yacht.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Stalvey Sutlive.
He is survived by his six children, Billy Sutlive (Robin), Kathy Sutlive, Linda Sutlive (Gene), Randy Sutlive (Shirley), Craig Sutlive (Cindy), and Scott Sutlive (Tammy Driggers), 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Dr. Sutlive was on call Christmas Eve and delivered my second son, Doug. Another lady was delivering at the same time! The doctor had us side by side on the delivery beds. One , then two! He was so busy, but very reassuring. He jokingly pretended to get our babies mixed up! God bless him and my sympathy to his family. Linda Herman
